Stitch Fix #6: adDRESSing the crowd

**UPDATE: Thanks to everyone for their help, ended up keeping the black one and sending the purple back. Asked them for it in a different color. Thanks again for helping and commenting!***

I have to say, my last fix was not my absolute favorite, and I was unsure if I was going to schedule another one, (but I do love my shorts.) It arrived late, I only liked one thing, and I was pretty salty about it.

THIS FIX, however, arrived a day EARLY, and I really felt like the stylist listened to my needs/wants.

This is the first time I’ve done this but I need help deciding. Usually on my posts I’ve already made my decision, this time I’m just not sure.

This round my request was “All Dresses, formal occasion; winter wedding, or date night dresses. No jewelry.” They definitely listened to me and looked at my pinterest page: You can literally see some of my pins in the looks they sent.

So here they are in all their glory, so let’s adDRESS this crowd…of dresses.

Let’s start with the two I’m debating keeping and would love your opinions on. (I only have until Saturday to decide, so the sooner your opinion, the better!)

1. 41 Hawthorn Lori Lace Fit & Flare Dress

stitchfix 6.4

It’s a black dress, if you know me, that immediately makes me like it. It’s a super flattering and appropriate length, has great detail around the neckline and hemline and I think, if I do say so myself, that it’s flattering on my body type. Fit & Flare is my friend. I was thinking about this to a wedding, fancy date night, wedding showers, or any nice event.

Verdict: Undecided. Should I keep it?

2. 41 Hawthorn Macie Lace Detailed Fit and Flare Dress

stitchfix 6.3

This dress is TOTALLY out of my comfort zone, but I’ve been pinning loads of lace stuff. It’s really sophisticated, more modest than I go for, but something about it draws me in. I like how it hugs my body, I adore the soft color and think I could really pull this off with the right shoes/bag/jewelry combo at a wedding. This is all about trying new things right?

Verdict: Undecided. Should I keep it?

Now we move to the dress graveyard, those that will no longer be with us, for various reasons.

3. Pomelo Carissa Striped Fit & Flare Dress

This dress was okay. I thought it fit nicely and was generally flattering but it didn’t do anything for me. Anyone who has done stitchfix knows the prices are not cheap, but it’s good quality. If I’m not loving a dress, I’m not keeping it. This struck me as something I could find in TJ MAXX for a lot cheaper. Like it, don’t love it.

Verdict: Dress graveyard, sending back.

4. 41 Hawthorn Shila Bead Collar Detail Dress

stitchfix 6.5

Gross. Hated it. The material looked like something a grandma would wear, it was AWFUL on, so awful I didn’t even post a photo of myself in it. This was the easiest decision I made in the whole box. Totally get where this was trying to go with my pinterest board, but it was a no go.

Verdict: Swiftly rejected. Going back.

5. 41 Hawthorn Sugar Dot Print Fit & Flare Dress

stitchfix 6.2

This dress…love the cut at the top, like the idea…I think maybe I like the idea of polka dots, but hate them on? I’m not sure. The cut of the dress was great but it hit a little too tightly on my back side. You can see in the photo it was just a little too tight. Loved the cut at the top, loved that it pulled in…just didn’t love it on.

Verdict: slower to decide, but going back.

Stitch Fix 6 is complete, except for your opinions. Let me know your thoughts on the first two dresses, should they stay or go to the dress graveyard?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and for my next adventure, whatever it may be!

I love love love the black dress! The lace around the neckline and hem set it apart from just any LBD and it looks great on you! So classic. And you could really play around with accessories from going all classic to adding some color statement pieces to make it more fun.

I’m on the fence about the purple one. I like it though, it looks really pretty and nice for spring/summer. I think when you accessorize/do your hair just try to keep it as young looking as possible if that makes sense? Color looks great on you!
