We’ve all been there, you pushed your hair washing for too long and you need a quick cute style so you can get out the door.
ENTER: Double Dutch Braid.
My braiding skill level used to be about a negative 3. I’ve watched tutorial after tutorial, pinterest diagrams, and finally found this video which change my world.
She teaches you to do the top part of my braid, and she has bangs, so alter as you see fit. I have no bangs so I just braided the whole front area.
Follow this video for the top part.
Once you finish your top braid, tie it off with a small elastic band.
Then braid the top braid into a bottom dutch braid. You won’t be adding any hair, just separate into three sections, one section will contain your top braid. Instead of going over each section, go under the middle section each time. That’s the best way it was described for me. See below.
French is over, Dutch is under. Once you run out of hair to add, you just braid the pieces under the middle.
I love this for crazy hair days. I’m talking, GIANT POOF hair, turned into the images above. I use this any time I need something quick and easy that looks great.
I would definitely recommend some frizz control serum before braiding, I didn’t use it on the images on the right, and wish I had, but the braid still rocked.
Next goal: Kim K Dutch Pigtail braids!
